Brücken überwinden Hindernisse – sie verbinden Orte und Menschen, sind ein Versprechen auf Begegnung und Vertrauen. Wird eine Brücke zerstört, reißt auch die Verbindung ab. An der Lausitzer Neiße, dem Grenzfluss zwischen Deutschland und Polen, erzählen alte und zerstörte Brücken von den verlorenen Verbindungen und vom Wandel einer Region. Zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart stellt der Film die Frage, was diese Bruchstellen für die Zukunft Europas bedeuten.
Der Film wurde produziert im Rahmen der Werkleitz Professional Media Master Class 2024 und gefördert durch die Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung MDM und das Land Sachsen Anhalt.

Bridges overcome obstacles - they connect places and people and are a promise of encounter and trust. If a bridge is destroyed, the connection is also severed. Along the Lusatian Neisse, the border river between Germany and Poland, old and destroyed bridges tell of lost connections and the transformation of a region. Between past and present, the film poses the question of what these fractures mean for the future of Europe.
